Mehek is an indian born, london based writer-director & advertising creative.
Over the past ten years, she has crafted stories that explore community, and connection.
As a Writer-Director, her work balances lived-in realism with bursts of heightened stylization. She is drawn to character-driven stories, often featuring first-time performers in natural settings or A-list talent in grounded, immersive ways. She is particularly interested in South Asian perspectives.
As an advertising creative, her stories question pre-existing narratives through the sub-cultures and communities that challenge them. She’s been described as “an idea machine” and has crafted stories for the likes of - ON Running, Get Your Guide, Amazon Music, Expedia, Unmind, TEDx, Freeda Media & Vogue India.
Her documentary short, SKATER UKTIS premiered at the Southbank Centre’s ‘Unbound Archives’ followed by screenings at BAFTA and Academy Award qualifying festivals including- Aesthetica Film Festival, London Indian Film Festival, Tasveer Film Festival, and more.
She’s been selected for Pitching Sessions with BBC Film and shortlisted for the Slick Films Fund 2024. She’s a member of The Kusp, Shelance, Bitchitra Collective and POCC.
Currently, she is developing her next narrative short.
